Above is a view of the interior of the Clamshell doors. The silver door on the right is the port door folded open. Below is the lower of two locking clamps fitted to the door.

Dor Mechanism

The Clamshell Opening Mechanism on the ceiling of the Freight Bay. The electric motor (above) drives a screw shaft via a flexible coupling. The shaft moves the white bars (below left) forward and backward. These push or pull on the green bars (below right) which push the doors open or pull them shut.
